El grupo de imágenes que conforman esta muestra fueron realizadas durante el año 2015 y la primera mitad del 2016 en Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

En su origen cada uno de los trabajos que aquí se presentan fueron concebidos en sí mismos y no como parte de un conjunto. A medida que iba avanzando fui encontrando diálogos y correspondencias conceptuales que fueron encausando el tenor de esta serie.

El contenido polisémico que guardan estas imágenes parten de la pérdida. Se enmarcan en un tiempo determinado del lugar donde habito, su memoria, su cotidiano, sus voces e imágenes que llenaban todos los espacios hasta carecer de sentido. 

Aceptando lo inútil de mis intenciones preconcebidas me enfrente a lo ineludible de la propia pintura. Avancé por el camino procesual conocido por mi y lo encontré caduco. Forcé lo cercano y no conseguí mas que lejanías. Negué el arribo y desconocí el camino. Conviví con la desazón.    

“Hollow” es la materialización pictórica de lo que se vacía y de lo que permanece. De lo que habla callando, de lo que se afirma negando.  Aquello que se escapa y que solo puede ser expresado en afonías. La apariencia y lo no aparente. La presencia y lo ausente. El entre y el detrás de cada imagen.

Al pintar me descubro frente a una afirmación. Algo mas allá de mis intenciones. No puedo mas que soportar la ausencia de lo que busco y aceptar el mirar de la imagen. Estas no culminan en mi intención y se colman de aquello que desborda. Allí acontece mi voluntad.

Hollow

The series of paintings in this exhibition was made during 2015 and the first half of 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Originally, I conceived each of the pieces independently from one another and not as part of a whole. While working on the series, dialogues and conceptual correspondences that linked the paintings appeared: they channeled the way for the mood of the series.

The polysemic content of these images originates in loss. They are framed within a specific time of the place I inhabited. A place with memories, an everyday life, voices and images that filled each space until they were deprived of meaning.

Accepting how useless my preconceived intentions were, I faced the unavoidable in my painting. I took the known procedural road and found it obsolete. I forced the closeness and I reached only distances. I denied the arrival and disregarded the road. I lived in unease.

Hollow is the pictorial materialization of what is voided and what remains. What speaks turning silent, what affirms negating. What slips away and can only be expressed through aphonic sounds. Appearance and non appearance. Presence and absence. What lies within and behind each image.

While painting, I find myself facing an affirmation. Something beyond my intentions. I can only endure the absence of what I am looking for and accept the gaze of the images. They do not end there; they fill with the overflow. That is where my will takes place.
